  Linux Professional Institute Courses

Tux

The following Linux courses are based around the The Linux Professional Institute (LPI) curriculum. LPI is a non-profit making organisation which has produced a vendor neutral Linux certification program through an Open Source type process. LPI gets it's input for exam objectives from the Linux community and receives funding from some major names in the computing world.

LPI has organised the LPIC process into three levels, Levels 1, 2 and 3, with each level consists of two exams. Level 1 is aimed at junior administrators whereas level 2 is aimed at advanced administrators. Level 3 exams are currently unspecified but are proposed to be more vendor dependant.

The courses offered by NKT Services covers the topics necessary for the LPIC Level 1 exams 101, 102, 201 and 202. If the delegate is likely to be supporting a Linux distribution which does not have it's own certification process, or supporting a mixture of distributions including Red Hat Linux, then the LPI Linux curriculum would be an appropriate choice. Not only do the courses cover Red Hat Linux, but are also applicable to Debian Linux, SuSE Linux, Mandrake Linux and Ubuntu.

On completion of all courses, the delegates should be in a position to sit the Linux Professional Institute Certification for Level 1 and Level 2 at their nearest Prometric testing centre.
